Front Studio

Front Studio Summary

In addition to being a large and comfortable lounge for viewing HD multimedia, the Front Studio is a cutting-edge audio and video production room.  Featuring the Sony AnyCast video switcher, the Bus is configured to produce a broadcast of up to 6 live HD cameras.  Sony robotic HD cameras, installed in all rooms of the Lennon Bus, allow the producer to follow the action wherever it takes place.  Editing is performed on the Apple Mac Pro and video is monitored on Sony professional HD video monitors.  To complement this immense HD video production power, the Front Studio is also a fully professional HD audio production room featuring the Roland Fantom X6 keyboard, Apogee HD audio conversion and Aphex mic preamps.

Rear Studio Summary

The Rear Studio is a professional audio production environment.  Featuring Apogee conversion and clocking, the room offers pro-level recording and mixing at the highest possible resolution.  Mackie monitors are tuned for optimum 5.1 surround mixing.  Roland’s V-Drums and RD-700sx 88 key piano-weighted keyboard and Godin guitars and basses round out the top-of-the-line complement of ready-to-play instruments.  The Rear Studio is actually two rooms which can be isolated from each other by heavy sliding glass doors.  The second room is both an iso booth and a green screen video room clad entirely in Reflecmedia Chromatte fabric.  The Rear Studio has 32ch of analog input and 16ch of analog output and can record 64 simultaneous tracks via the Aphex 828 digital snake.  Neutrik patchbays form the hub of this professionally designed and built room.

The Bus also features 8 channels of Audio-Technica 5000 series wireless systems with handheld and body-pack transmitters, ATW-A49 antennas and AEW-550C antenna distribution system. For video, the Bus utilizes Audio-Technica’s U100 series of camera-mount wireless systems.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus pulls a 17’ trailer which houses a PA system complete with backline. This enables the Bus to become a self-contained venue for live concerts capable of simultaneously producing a show, shooting multi-camera HD video for both a live video feed and editing in post while also recording multi-track audio. The Aphex 828 digital snake and 1788A remote controlled preamps allow the Bus to record 64 channels of audio through lightweight Neutrik OpticalCon fiber cable.
